About

I study business economics and electrical engineering at UC Davis, and I have been here since September 2023. The combination sounds like indecision until you see what I want to do with it.

This summer I was a hardware lab intern at Astera Labs. I built and programmed PCIe fabric switch boards, tested CXL memory controllers, assembled liquid-cooled sockets for high-power silicon, and ran a vendor evaluation for an asset tracking project. That last one put me on the buyer side of a real sales cycle for the first time, and I learned more from watching people sell to me than from anything I had read about selling.

The through-line is that most people selling into AI infrastructure have never opened a rack. I have, and I would rather be on the commercial side of it. This site is where I work that out in public.

I did theater from 2012 to 2020, running alongside scouting the whole time. I do not perform anymore but I still go to plays and standup constantly. TODO — keep the next clause only if you would actually say it out loud: I think the overlap with sales is more literal than people admit, since both are reading a room in real time and adjusting on the spot.

Outside of that I camp as often as I can get out of the valley, and I read and write for about half an hour every day. The writing habit is most of why this site exists.
